2.7.2 The 'hidden curriculum' and how it affects learners
Welcome to chapter 7 of the 'Policies, pastoral care and practical applications' module. Throughout this module, we have discussed specific policies, laws, moral and ethical obligations and support networks which are in place to support learners in Education. This chapter deals with something a little different: the 'hidden curriculum', which has the potential to disadvantage certain learners through the teaching of unintended lessons. We will define exactly what a hidden curriculum is and explore what the impact of a hidden curriculum may be on different types of learners.
